Project History: Several years ago we started the Uriah Heep Live Project. We let it slide to the back burner due to other projects and outside problems. In this span of time www.travellersintime.com got a bit confusing, was it a Uriah Heep website or was it what was intended to be, The Heepsters Homepage? So we decided to move the things around, rearrange what we were doing so even we could keep up. This provided a home for all items related to the band and gave it some direction or purpose. We are back on track now and will try to complete this project the way it was intended, that will take plenty of time and effort. Thanks for your patience and continued support. Write us with questions and chip in a few suggestions.
Objective: We intend to document the performances and note the historical value of the live sound which has been known as Uriah Heep for going on thirty five years. The show listings we have are of unofficial audio recordings in which we have been able to locate copies of at this time (we don't purchase these so don't offer to sell us one, read the disclaimer at the bottom of this page). More shows are in our possession now and more are on the way, we only list them after we have obtained a copy, had a chance to evaluate the performance, the quality of the recording itself and have an understanding of it's place in the band's history. This provides a special meaning to these recordings, not just a bootleg, but a piece of memorabilia that can not be duplicated in any other form.
Sources: Audience recordings, video to audio transfers, TV and Radio broadcast. Only a few soundboard recordings have surfaced to date. These recordings are from personal collections from contacts world wide who have interest in helping us complete this project. If you have something you think would be of interest we don't have listed, please contact us. Some shows are incomplete and some lack certain information.
The Results: In most cases we remaster the sound of the original source so we can judge what the recording has to offer. We are adding running times, artwork, set lists, sound files (marked with red links), comments and short reviews. By careful evaluation of the contents of these recordings we hope to provide an online journey into reasons for changes in sets, lineups and even discover a few nice surprises along the way.
Keeping Track: The listing page is broken down into sections depending upon vocalist, since this is the frontman of the band most remember who was singing first. Note that the shows are listed by venue, city and date, not by bootleg title. Click on the linked pages now up marked in yellow font. These are the pages created to document information on each listing. The last ten additions to the overall listings we have are marked in red and shows with updated comments or other information are marked in green. Keep close track of this section, the project could take a long time to complete, and still have many holes to fill. This is where you come in.......if you notice information listed incorrectly, contact us so we can correct any mistakes or if you have other comments that we need be note.
Disclaimer: Please note: These recordings are not for sale. Do not contact us with request to purchase. Most of what we have listed is can be obtained though common trading, we have no control nor wish to be held responsible for what others do just for the love of obtaining more then what is officially offered for commercial sale. We do not condone bootlegging in any shape or form. Sharing or trading is without profit and is usually done by fans who buy everything. We feel this makes the band stronger and more in the minds of the general fan base. A preservation of the moments and memories.
