Former
Coney Hatch singer/guitarist and latter day Guess Who frontman Carl Dixon is
presently working on a new solo album at Groove Jungle Studio in Winnipeg.
It's
his first album of new material since "Into The Future" [2001] and follows
his acoustic covers disc "One Voice - Two Hands" [2003, covering tracks by
such names as The Beatles, The Guess Who, Stephen Stills, Elton John, Led
Zeppelin, The Who, etc...] and a 2006 re-issue of his debut disc "One" [w/
new artwork, photos and enhanced video for the single 'Taste Of Love'].
Song
titles include: It's A Wonder, Beyond the Open Door, An Average Guy,
Hand in Hand, Illumination, You Look So Cool, Mercy, Knee Highs, and
Waiting for the Fog To Clear. *The track "It's A Wonder", can
be heard exclusively at Carl's web-site.
Says
the Canadian rocker "This album will be a little different than what
you've heard from me in the past, but if you've seen my solo acoustic
show you'll have some idea where I'm heading. I'm very excited with the
work so far and the possibilities of this musical direction."
Aside
from The Guess Who [whom he recorded the 1999 Live disc "Down The Road"
with], Dixon previously toured with April Wine. His current
acoustic shows feature numerous classic rock and solo [and Coney] tracks
and even requests.
Tuesday nights Carl also hosts a 2 hour radio show called "Carl
Dixon's Rock Garden" [featuring some pretty cool and rarely played
classic rock stuff]. Check it out online from 9:00 to 11:00 at:
