"When I logged in for the first time in the spring of '97 I couldn't
imagine what would happen to me. To find so many heepfriends on the web was
really amazing. I'm enjoying it everyday since then.
Let's introduce myself. Im Louis Rentrop. I'm 40 years old, married to Diana and we have 2 kids Joris(3) and Eva (6). I'm a manager in a healthcare organization in Rotterdam Holland.
I first met the music of Heep in a bar in 1974 when a local band called 'Dallic Control' did songs like 'July Morning', 'Seven Stars', and 'Stealin'. I remember going to a record shop in Rotterdam to buy my first album, 'Look at Yourself'. The front of the shop was one big display of Heepcovers. It was the bigtime.By that time the band was very popular in our country. Easy Livin was a huge hit in 1973.
My first concert was in Amsterdam 1976. It was the best I've ever seen. David was in top form. Although the press was always criticizing Heep, this time the reviews were good. That same year I saw Heep at Pinkpop. I can still feel how proud I was my band was on top of the bill. The bootleg 'Return to Wetton' proves the top shape Heep was in. Thereafter I had the luck to see Heep several more times. The last time was last year in Germany. Great moments again.
From the very beginning I collected everything on Heep: pictures, articles, tapes, tickets,lp's,singles etc. Hungry for news I went almost twice a week to local magazineshops try to find something. And when my eye met a single line on Heep I bought the magazine. Now on the web I can use the stuff for my homepage, and help everyone who needs a picture or article.
I'm also a UHAS member, and was a member of two UK fanclubs and two Dutch ones.
To close my contribution I'd like to say Heep was, is and ever will be a very
important factor in my life. The music and especially the lyrics of Ken
Hensley do have an almost religious impact on me. Maybe thats why I'm
addicted to Uriah Heep."
