Hello fellow Heepsters. It has taken me about 6 years to finally get my Heepster profile together. I have been a true Christian since my gift from God was sent 6 years ago. My name is Jessica Lynn Wollam, I was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on November 29, 1958, I am 44. I moved to Geneva, Florida USA in 1975. I usually go by the name Lynn, but since I was the 2nd Lynn on the Uriah Heep mailing list, I just use my first name. I have 2 daughters Heather (22), Jessica(19)and 2 sons Robert(13) and William (6). Jessica recently made me a Grandma for the first time. My grandson is Bradley, he was born on Sept 25, 2002 and I am a very happy Grandma.
I started listening to Uriah Heep in 1972-73 with my cousin, she is 4 years older than I. We would be partying, riding around and listening to 8 tracks of Black Oak Arkansas, Edgar Winter, and Uriah Heep, which would become my favorite She had the North American version of Uriah Heep. The song that really got me hooked was "Bird of Prey." I wore the 8 track out. Then in 1975 my boyfriend brought over "the very eavy...very umble" album he had picked up while stationed in the Army in Germany. I couldn't believe it, it was the same as my cousin had but didn't have "Bird of Prey" on it. So as I listened to the album I loved every song on it, I became a Heep lover for sure. I am partial to the Byron years. Byron's voice has so much feeling, that when I listen, it just puts me in a nice state of mind. Very relaxing, yet intense. In 1976 I bought the "Best of Uriah Heep." In 1977 I heard the DJ on the radio say the song from the "Rough Diamond" album is the former singer of Uriah Heep, David Byron. That was the last I heard anything having to do with Uriah Heep until 1997.
I was widowed on February 14, 1997, and my Aunt got me a computer trying to help with my grief. I had put on my AOL profile that I liked Uriah Heep music. Heep friend Graham Hulme from England instant messaged me about Uriah Heep. He informed me that David Byron and Gary Thain were no longer with us. Oh, how my heart dropped but I was happy to talk to someone that loved Uriah Heep, as not to many people have good taste in music. He also turned me on to other Heep music and sent me a tape of "Lansdowne" music. Now I have a couple of copies of the CD in case I wear them out. Then we both joined the Heepsters mailing list. I also met Merrick "Madman" Critteden a fellow Heepster and Floridian. We use to go on line Saturday mornings, and make a Uriah Heep chat room on AOL have our coffee, play the same CD of Uriah Heep at the same time and chat about the songs. We have to do it again sometime.
Heepsters are SUPER PEOPLE and I am glad to be associated with them!
