Back
in high school, many years ago, I was playing guitar in a band. We wanted to do
"heavy" music and I was always scouring the music bins looking for
new, "underground" bands that we could cover. One night, at a
rehearsal, one of my band mates told me about Uriah Heep. (?) Seems his brother
bought an 8-trak tape by a band called, "URIAH HEEP", in a little
convenience store somewhere in the back woods of North Carolina, (in the middle
of the Smoky Mountains). He bought the tape because he liked the cover. And he
said it rocked! So I ordered Uriah Heep from the local music store. But an album
called "Salisbury" came instead. So I gave it a listen. I've been a
loyal and devoted Heep fan(atic) ever since and have been lucky enough to shake
hands with Mick a couple of times.
Currently I am the music director/guitarist for the American Superstars show at the Stratosphere Resort in Las Vegas, NV. I'm pleased to be in such good company and hope to meet some of you, my brothers and sisters in Heepdom, someday. If you're planning a trip to Las Vegas I'd love to comp you into the American Superstars show. E-mail me directly at: daved9@cox.net
Best wishes.
