Mani Blank

I was born in 1952 in Cuxhaven in Germany. With 14 I got my first guitar and was on stage only 3 month later. 1970 I changed to bass and started to play professional in local rock bands. From 1998 to 2001 I had a really good band going, but due to the unprofessional behavour of three people in the band we split. But I still play. Since 2001 I play in a country band for my living, but got a rock band going with my favorite drummer. We are together on stage for almost 10 years now (he´s in the country band, too).

I always loved the music of UH, and in 1993, when they played in Augsburg, I played "Easy Living" WITH THEM at the sound check!!!!! It was just great!!!!!!!!!! A picture of this event can be seen on www.mick-box.com on the page "fanpics". The legend says: "Mani Blank (Waxx) and Mick jamming in Augsburg 1993.

Listen here to the greatest success of our country band (#2 in the German country charts in October 2003.  Sorry for the bad English of our singer (and boss).

Here are some things Mani wanted to share:

One guitar player that really impressed me comes from my town Augsburg.  I used to play with him in my last band. This guy has only ONE HAND, his left!!  He plays by sticking a plastic-comb (just a regular comb from the drugstore) under a sweatband that he fastens on the stump of his right arm. Great player with a lot of feeling for melodic solos.   Listen here to the demo we did together.  He plays the second solo in the song (the melodic one).
