Lars & Renata Popp

Lars:

I was born in 1959 in
Copenhagen Denmark,
and I'm trying to make a
living as a teacher. I've
always been very keen on
music as interest which also
contains a lot of other bands
other then Uriah Heep.
First time I heard some of
Uriah Heep, that I remember
was "Look At Yourself". My
brother had brought home a tape with it, and soon as I heard that, I was hooked.
I quickly started collecting, and quite fast for the standards of that time, I had a
nice collection.
As years went by, and the sound of the heavy 70's died out a bit - Uriah Heep
rocked on, despite the sad fact, that different problems occurred in the line-up(s).
I hung on and picked up, what I could at the time. The 80's wasn't too good to
bands as Uriah Heep, and though  I didn't really like the direction the Goalby
period took Uriah Heep, I hung on and almost lost sight of them, as they shaped
the line up that's present today.
In the mid 90's, as the Internet was in its rise, I discovered sites of Uriah Heep
and Ken Hensley, and alongside a few trips to London, where I found albums, that
I considered long gone. Heep interest took new heights. Refound joy and refound
happiness is a true benefit of this process, and even if that wasn't enough, I
consider myself lucky, having found a lot of friends worldwide, and even my wife,
sharing the interest of Uriah Heep.

Renata (Melissa):

Born in Praha ( Prague ) in Czech Republic in 1966, and today working as database administrator.   Same fields of interests as Lars, in fact very like 2 drops of water in many ways.

My interest in Uriah Heep began much later than Lars, but not less enthusiastic,
I started with the album Demons and Wizards, which instantly turned into a very
personal thing for me. I followed up, found a lot of gems in the music, and one
day as talking online on some now long gone network, I stumbled across Lars. I
had some rough HTML project of Heep, which wasn’t really anything, but a
hobby project for private use.
Lars convinced me to put it online, as he had some web space suited for it. To
make a long and joyful story short: by interest of Uriah Heep, I got two for the
price of one. My husband, as Lars is today, and a shared interest in Uriah Heep,
with which we do a lot of effort exposing at our website.
